Hi folks,

Off the bat, I’d like to thank everyone for their responses about the first edition of the e-digest, and a big thanks to all the contributors. I hope we continue to gain momentum with each issue that comes out.

I’d like to apologize for the delay in publishing this second edition of the digest. We decided to change the newsletter to a monthly feature, and so we will now be publishing at the end of every month.

The polls have closed, and I’m happy to announce that as of this issue, we are going to be published under the name “DesiBuzz“. Thanks to Archana and Greeshma for coming up with suggestions for the names, and to everyone who took the time out to vote.

Friendship Day passed us by, and we were treated to a Friendship Day Potluck lunch hosted by Pragathi. Many people turned up, and the afternoon saw a delicious spread of food, sprinkled with the chatter of all the contented attendees. Lunch was followed by a friendly game of Dumb Charades, hosted by Vasista and company, which saw a very interesting display of acting skills by our very own grad students.

August was an eventful month for Pragathi, and we went on our first camping/hiking trip, celebrated Independence Day on a grand scale, followed by a pooja for Ganesh Chaturthi, all of which attracted great responses from the student community.

This edition of the digest has a varied outlook to it, with an article on friendship, and another on the things that you just have to do before you leave Drexel. On a somber note, we have included an article on the humanitarian crises that the world has been witness to. Plus, a movie review on the recently released Harry Potter movie.

I hope you enjoy this edition of DesiBuzz, and as always, we look forward to hearing from you.

Happy reading, folks!

Nandita.
