Summer seems to have hit Philly with all its force, except for the occasional thunderstorm now and then. Summer in India, besides the sweltering heat and power cuts, signals the arrival of, you got it: Mango season. Mangoes, along with ice cream and cold drinks, are one of my favorite things associated with summer. Mangoes trigger a host of memories: buying raw mangoes sprinkled with chili and salt, nightly mango chopping/eating sessions with my family, and the yearly ritual of pickling them. Sadly, I’ve missed mango season this year.

New York

Released under the Yash Raj banner last month, this movie promised a realistic portrayal of terror suspects as they are treated by the FBI. If I were directing a movie which has a theme like that, and need my characters to go beyond perfect smiles and designer clothes, I would start by selecting the right actors!! Katrina Kaif (Irrfan Khan excluded) has given the best performance among the 3 protagonists, and this shows what a miserable job the male leads have done. They call it an M.S in Biomedical Engineering.

America! The land of dreams for many. For a long time, I had been planning to do my Masters’ at Drexel- which faculty to work with, research areas, funding, future goals, companies, etc. However, after landing here, the first question was how I would fend for my living expenses. I applied at the library, Creese reception desk, the residence hall reception desks, the bookstore, a Physics TA, ISSS website administrator, and any other position I saw available.
